  10.  I. What is PPEnet?
  11.  ------------------
  12.         PPEnet came into existance about 2 years ago around the time PCBoard
  13.   15.0 came out and the bbs world was becomming overun with PPL programmers
  14.   and the wanna-bes that always abound in such a "scene." I decided it would
  15.   be nice to have a network dedicated to getting the "Good" programmers
  16.   together to insure that we all had a way to keep up with new techniques and
  17.   to give beginers a place to come to learn without prejudice. Since then the
  18.   net has grown, and died, and grown again.
  19.  
  20.         PPEnet has become much more than the name implies. Our main focus is
  21.   of course PCBoard PPEs and items related to them. But we also provide support
  22.   for programmers of all types. C/Pascal/ASM are currently supported and if
  23.   interest is shown for other languages we will add echos.

  27.         I (Nemesis) had to leave the net a year ago and passed it on to
  28.   another ZC, who basically let it die. The network was inactive from 07-01-94
  29.   until 04-01-95, when I decided to rebuild it and my BBS back from the ruins,
  30.   and it is already better than ever. The net has message traffic from the
  31.   programming underworlds best, and is growing daily. So if you need to contact
  32.   to the best, come to PPEnet.

  34.  II. How do I join PPEnet
  35.  ------------------------
  36.  
  37.    Joining PPE net is simple. The below requirements are in effect to keep the
  38.    quality of members high:
  39.  
  40.      You MUST run PCBoard 15.0 or Higher.
  41.      You MUST have a front end mailer installed (such as QFRONT,FD,IM)
  42.      You MUST be able to call your hub at least once a week.
  43.      You MUST have a 14400 baud Modem or above.
  44.  
  45.     even if you meet all the requirements above PPEnet supervisors reserve
  46.     the right to refuse you admittance if you do not meet our standards.

  48.   To apply for PPENET simply do the following:
  49.    1) Compile the nodelist included with the package with your front end mailer
  50.  
  51.    2) Attach the completed application (renamed to your bbsname
  52.       i.e. NEWWORLD.APP), to a netmail message addressed to 20:20/0
  53.  
  54.                                   -OR-
  55.  
  56.   ASCii Upload the application into the PPE-SUGGEST conference on a PPEnet
  57.   Carrier BBS.
  58.  
  59.   Once we have recieved your application we will review it and call you at the
  60.   voice number you list in your application. If you are accepted we will then
  61.   give you a new nodelist with your board in it along with your new address
  62.   and the proper hub to call. If you are denied you will tell you why and you
  63.   can strive to overcome you lowely status <g>
